Bottcher's. Football, friends and fritters!

Two things ring true about going to college at Auburn University. Football and tailgating. 

But even with all the tailgating and yard parties going on, a football weekend wasn’t complete without a stop by Bottcher’s famous deck bar for live music, Long Island Teas and a mess of cheese fritters.

Fortunately for me, my best friend’s brother was the chef, so unofficially he and I were its most frequent customers and biggest fans. Always packed and always fun, you never knew who you might bump into there. Anyone from Frank Thomas to Bobby Petrino graced the beautiful, mismatched broken tile floor in the bar area. Forgotten remnants from the owners wife’s flooring company. Tiles as unique as Bottcher’s itself.
