Henry's

Henry’s, on University Ave in Palo Alto, is remembered by locals as the first place to serve a legal cocktail in town after a court order ended decades of prohibition in 1971. Henry's dark wainscoted walls, timbered ceilings, tiled dining room floor and whirring fans gave the impression of a turn-of-the-century watering hole in old New York. In 1995, one of the last neighborhood pubs closed after newer, trendier competition moved into the area.
