Pug's

One of Five Points' greatest hangs...Pug's...was actually two bars in one location down on Harden St. Downstairs, yep, there was the obligatory cigarette machine (remember those?) in the entrance, that gave way to cozy booths and a popcorn machine and a casual, mellow environment where you could actually hear your friends over drinks listening to Jimmy Buffett. And then, upstairs, Pug's Too, featured a dance floor, DJ's and top-40 tunes and a boogie-down scene from Thursdays to Saturdays. All of it opened around 1981 by Pug Wallace...a legendary impresario and entrepreneur.
