Pearl Street Pub

Ah, the Pearl Street Pub—where La Crosse's 80s college crowd found solace in cheap drinks and even cheaper décor. Located at 317 Pearl Street, the drink specials were as legendary as they were questionable (two-for-one Rail Mixers on Tuesdays, anyone?). Many just opted for tried and true Harp, Guiness and Watneys on tap, though. And you had to love their “Happy Hour until 7 PM” hustle…who does that anymore? Thursday thru Saturday, you could catch the “Very Live Music” (their words) from B. Squat Woody or the “Barrel House Blues & Boogie” from Keith Kozachic. The location has housed some epic UWL student joints over the years, from the Oxford Pub (before Pearl St Pub) to the long-running Yesterdays, which opened in the 80s and still going strong!
