White Rabbit Disco

Yep, nobody was safe in the 70s from the Disco Inferno burning across the country! That included Austin, of course — a town that’s always been inclusive of ALL kinds of musical expression. Enter the White Rabbit Disco! Where the slogan was “You ain’t seen nothin’ till you’ve seen the White Rabbit”. Not sure if that is a reference to whatever party drug you took before arriving to boogie on the huge dance floor under the amazing light show. The large club at 831 Houston Street was host to many nights of Saturday Night Fever style partying, with hot pants and platform shoes and hairy chests beneath the crazy-wide collars.
